MESSAGE FROM JANET DIBBLE

The nominated Charity for 2025/2026 is PAPYRUS UK. This Charity helps with the prevention of young suicide. They have an ongoing emergency appeal to help keep their life saving helpline open throughout the night. I am hoping to raise money to help keep open HOPELINE247 for young people who are in crisis during the darkest hours.

If anyone has any unwanted gifts or items that can be used for raffle prizes they will always be gladly accepted.

I want to say thank you to everyone that came to the Annual Quiz and Raffle on the 24th January. It was very well attended and we managed to raise £232.50 for our chosen Charity, Papyrus UK.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and I am looking forward to the next one!!

FOR SALE - PROCEEDS TO OUR CHARITY PAPYRUS

A brand-new Radley (of the up-market handbag fame) smartwatch has been donated and is open to offers.  It is a smart grey slimline and retails at £39.95.  We are looking for offers of £20 or more - so please contact Pat on patty43@btinternet.com to make your bid.  The deadline for this is Friday 13th February - please note Pat is away between the 2nd and 6th February.  Don't delay get your bid in today!

DRAMA GROUP

Although the Drama Group had a successful production in December, we are short of members - not only to 'tread the boards' (in parts large or small) but also for the many and varied 'behind the scenes' jobs, which can be just as satisfying and appreciated.  We would love to hear from you - for a chat please contact Pat on 01492 516463 or patty43@btinternet.com.

We are expanding our activities generally to include for example play reading, possibly a production in the Summer and social events.

There will be an ‘ALL WELCOME' social afternoon in MARCH at Penmaenmawr Community Centre; this will include slides/photos of previous productions (to remind you of the fun that can be had) and a Beetle Drive with a difference - all free and accompanied by tea/coffee and cake.  Watch out for the date and time in the March newsletter and come along and see what it is all about and perhaps be tempted to join us.

FEBRUARY SOCIAL MEETING

We are at Penmaenmawr Community Centre on Thursday 19th February 2026 at 2pm when our speaker will be Liz Healey. Her talk is entitled “Slate” speaking about her underwater exploration of historic shipwrecks around the Menai Straits and surrounding area.              This should be an interesting talk and we look forward to welcoming everyone.
